Chill-Out 2011 - Huge Success!
The very first LGBT Pride event in North Norfolk ever! was a huge success.
A big thank you to all the people who helped make it the gayest day out in Cromer:
to everyone who took part in the activities: the Open Mic session, the Camp Sandcastle Competition and the Triominoes Tournament;
to the gang of Volunteers without whom the event would never have taken place (thanks guys and gals - you know who you are. Well done).
last, but not least: thanks to Rob from St Johns Ambulance who organised a team of medics from Swaffham!, the North Norfolk Police and the North Norfolk District Council.
We raised a little over £1000 (gross) - which is a huge boost to our coffers and will enable us to put together another event next year as well as fund a variety of meetings across the county which we hope will encourage and build a sense of community.
If you feel inspired to write, we'd be grateful if you could write to the NNDC to thank them for allowing us to host the event. It will make our job a little easier next year. Their website is http://www.north-norfolk.gov.uk/contact/
Thank you.

Poetry
Trudy wrote and performed a special poem for the Cromer Beach Chill-Out:
Poem For Cromer Pride
(to the rythym of 'I love to be beside the seaside').
A landmark day for Cromer,
A landmark day for love.
It’s great to be gay at the seaside
It feels right to be gay by the sea
For we are the smiling testament
Of justice, tenacity and hope.
And I do love to stroll along the prom...prom...prom.
Holding my girlfriends hand, tiddley om...pom...pom
We are clear, we are queer, we are here...without fear
Celebrating the diversity that is love
Here...on the beach at Cromer
